    Productivity can be improved merely by improving the conditions under which people work. Accident are responsible for lose in working time by the injured person, production stoppages, material damages, work delays, reduced output when the injured person is replace. The most effective method of obtaining good results in accident prevention is to establish good safety organization within the enterprise and better environment that facilitates the people to gel within the environment and thus they can contribute to maximum productivity level.

    Causes of accident

    • Dangerous substance (explosives or volatile flammable liquid)

    • Dangerous machine

    • Working voltage or current causes disturbance in working machine( spark , blast etc.)

    • The faulty handling of goods or machine tool.

    Safety Measures to be taken:

    These are the following safety measures that an industry must made in order to avoid accidents

    Precautions:

    • Careful supervision and maintenance

    • Safety training for all workers.

    Fire prevention and defense

    A trained fire-fighting team which carries out regular fire fighting exercise and are conformed to ISO standards.

    Lighting

    Good visibility of the equipment, the product and the data involved in the work process is an essential factor in accelerating production, reducing the number of defective products, reducing waste and preventing visual fatigue and headaches amongst the workers.

    Inadequate visibility and glare are frequently a cause of accident.

    Noise

    It is a cause of various problems, like

    • Reduce the intelligibility of speech, i.e. is not more than 10 dB louder than the background.

    • Cause irritation, reduced productivity.

    • Prolonged exposure to noise above certain levels causes permanent damage to hearing.

    Climate condition

    If productivity is to be maintained, climate conditions at the workplace must not place an extra burden on the workers.
