| | | | | Being a smoker myself I found that there are two reasons to smoke, because you have to and because its a habit. These are two different reasons I will try to explain. The first one is the Nicotine withdrawal that makes us light up first thing in the morning or after a long period of no smoking. The second reasons comes from habit, such as when you smoke when you are in the car, to kill time waiting for someone, or after a meal or coffee. I found that it is easier to first cut the cigarettes that are out of habit, like not smoking in the car or waiting around, the next hurdle is to stop smoking after meals, coffee or alcohol and the final hurdle is to quit altogether. I believe quitting cold turkey is possible but can drive you nuts if you are not strong willed enough or do not have enough support. Quitting gradually and taking your time may actually heavily reduce the amount of cigarettes you smoke until finally you realise you are down to two a day and it's just not worth it. |

| | | | | Quitting smoking is not as easy as turning the palms of your hands. First there must be intention / strong willpower to quit, or at least reduce smoking every day.
Thanks for the tips, very helpful. |
