By this method, many institutions are ensuring that the student intake is completed as well as it also ensures that students who might have missed out on the local college or state exams can easily get admissions in these colleges.
This system of admissions through the national level test is quite beneficial for the students. This allows the students from different regions to get admissions in MAT colleges in different regions, thus bringing into the college a right mix of regional variations. But the association of these colleges with the CAT or XAT entrance doesn’t bring their administration under the XAT or CAT. Their admissions are to be done by the fee structures that are prevalent in the respective colleges and students are required to follow the curriculum of the colleges that they take admissions in. The biggest advantage of such an open admission is the variety of students that can be admitted and also that the students are not limited in only a few colleges.
Although there are many colleges in India that take admissions through the national level tests like ATMA, yet the high standard of these entrance exams make sure that the students who are admitted might have missed out on the admissions in IIMs with a few marks only. Such types of open admissions are also quite encouraging for the students who might have lost hope when they have missed out on important exams of their states or other local exams.
